Lithuanian gas transmission system operator Amber Grid on Monday received a notice that at Gazprom's request, gas transit from Lithuania to Kaliningrad is temporarily suspended. Gas is supplied to this region of Russia in transit through Lithuania from Belarus. The reasons of the suspension of gas transit were not specified.
Gas flows to Lithuania from Belarus are stable. Lithuanian gas transmission infrastructure operates in the normal mode.
All Lithuanian gas consumers are supplied with gas from the Klaipėda LNG terminal, the Latvian underground gas storage facility and Belarus.
Constant monitoring and evaluation of gas transmission system indicators and data are performing.
Regarding gas transit to Kaliningrad, Amber Grid is complying with its obligations under the agreement with Gazprom, which runs until the end of year 2025. The contract stipulates that gas is transported according to the "ship or pay" formula. Temporary suspension of transit will not have financial consequences for Amber Grid.
