With a rapidly changing climate and high energy prices, the European Union and the rest of the world are tightening their belts to save money. Businesses and companies operating in Lithuania need to comply with EU requirements and contribute to common energy savings targets for each country.
On 23rd October, 2020 UAB EPSO-G, AB Amber Grid, LITGRID AB and the Ministry of Energy entered a four-party energy savings agreement. The agreement provides for Amber Grid to save 1.15 GWh in the installations and(or) objects owned by end-users until 2030.
We are pleased that the Company contributes to the final energy saving in Lithuania by increasing the efficiency of energy consumption. Looking at the Company’s performance during the period since the signing of the agreement, the total amount of energy saved is 162.53 MWh, of which 102 MWh in 2023. Such results were achieved by switching from the fuel-powered vehicles to electric cars, by changing the lease of energy-inefficient administrative premises to energy-efficient ones, by replacing the lights in the company's premises (inside) to LED-type lights, and by installing motion sensors in the corridors.
