Energy savings

Improving energy efficiency is one of the key objectives of the European Union and Lithuania. On 23 October 2020, UAB EPSO-G, AB Amber Grid, LITGRID AB and the Ministry of Energy entered into a four-party energy savings agreement, under which AB Amber Grid committed to saving 1.15 GWh of energy in end-users’ installations and/or facilities by 2030.

AB Amber Grid is successfully delivering on these objectives: in 2025, the company saved 0.4248 GWh of energy, which is three times more than planned. This is the highest annual energy saving result in the company’s history. Since the agreement was signed, the total amount of energy saved has already reached 0.7661 GWh, representing as much as 66 percent of the overall target committed to by 2030.

These results were achieved through the implementation of various measures: the company replaced diesel and petrol vehicles with electric vehicles, moved from energy-inefficient administrative premises to more efficient ones, installed LED lighting in the office and equipped corridors with motion sensors.

Amber Grid will continue to consistently pursue its energy efficiency objectives, thereby contributing to the development of sustainable energy in Lithuania and the European Union.
