Within a year, the head office of the Lithuanian gas transmission system operator Amber Grid will be moved to the Business Garden Vilnius office complex, which is being developed at the periphery of Vilnius. The news has been announced having accomplished the new office lease procurement procedure.
Two tenders have been received during the lease procurement procedure of Amber Grid’s head office: Freedom 36 and Business Garden Vilnius. Having evaluated and ranked the final tenders presented by tenderers, the latter project has been ranked first. The winner has been selected in accordance with the cost-effectiveness criteria.
The planned 5-year contract envisages the lease of office premises totalling the area of around 1 100 square metres starting from autumn 2021. Up to 76 employees will work in this new office. Relocation of Amber Grid’s head office to the new premises has been planned due to the approaching expiration of the current lease contract of the office at Savanorių avenue, Vilnius.
'When choosing the new office, the following aspects have been relevant: energy efficiency of the building, adequate use of the office area, conformity to modern office standards, modern work environment that motivates current and potential employees, ability to use the benefits of the office complex: conference centres, parking lots, electric vehicle charging stations, bike storage spots,' says Nemunas Biknius, Amber Grid’s Managing Director.
According to him, employees who will be working at the office, which is being built near Vilnius bypass, will be able to quickly reach other units of the company as well as remote team members.
'The gas transmission system of Lithuania consists of more than two thousand kilmetres of gas pipelines, half a hundred of gas distribution and compressor stations; therefore, being mobile and able to quickly reach the nearest industrial and administrative premises located at the periphery of the capital city, as well as avoiding traffic jams to leave Vilnius for any part of Lithuania, where the objects owned by the company are operated, are highly relevant to us,' states Mr. Biknius.
One-fourth of Amber Grid’s employees will move to the new office, whereas others – nearly two and a half hundred of specialists – will continue working in the offices of the gas transmission system operator located in Gudelių street in Vilnius, and in Širvintos and Panevėžys districts.
