On 27 April 2022, the Board of Amber Grid AB elected Vytautas Bitinas, Director of Strategy and Development of EPSO-G, as Chairman of the Board. He is responsible for shaping, managing and overseeing the Group's strategy.
Vytautas Bitinas joined EPSO-G in 2021, having worked as Strategy and Development Director at Lietuvos Paštas for 4 years before that. He also has professional experience in the telecommunications, information technology, banking, energy and transport sectors. In March of this year, he was elected President of the National Lithuanian Energy Association (NLEA).
"Amber Grid's main objective during this period is to ensure a secure and reliable natural gas transmission network, which ensures energy independence for Lithuania. The strategic gas interconnector between Poland and Lithuania (GIPL) will soon be launched, and the ongoing ELLI project to expand the interconnector between Lithuania and Latvia will further strengthen the integration of the Baltic gas market and the stability of supply. The company is also a key player in the transformation of the country's energy sector, with a strong focus on the integration of green hydrogen into the gas pipeline network. Amber Grid's Board consists of 5 members elected for a 4-year term of office. The current term of the Board started in April 2020. Dalius Svetulevičius, Technical Manager of EPSO-G, who is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the strategy for the management of technological assets and investment plans, and Karolis Švaikauskas, a civil servant and Head of the Energy Competitiveness Group at the Ministry of Energy, joined the Board in April this year.
