Biogas Production Facility Connection Works

The scope of works required to connect a biogas production facility to the gas transmission system depends on the specific connection point, the selected technical solutions and other project-specific circumstances, including whether the facility is connected to one or two transmission pipeline.

When determining the preliminary connection cost, where the works within the transmission system are organized by the TSO, the following works and services are taken into account:

  • Preparation of a technical working draft for the project;
  • Supervision of the implementation of the design documentation and making the necessary changes to the technical working design during the term of construction contract agreement;
  • Supply of materials and equipment;
  • General construction work;
  • Dismantling, dismantling, testing and connection of gas process equipment, pipelines to existing gas pipelines;
  • Telemetry (SCADA) installation works;
  • Electrical engineering (installation of electrical, protective earthing systems) works;
  • Passive corrosion protection, gas pipeline re-insulation works;
  • Site management works. All necessary installation/redevelopment/reconstruction of other engineering infrastructure;
  • Connection works;
  • Other works and services (surveying, geology, pipeline desurfacing, site set-up and maintenance, documentation management and obtaining the completion certificate/declaration).

The connection cost for a biogas production facility calculated by the TSO is preliminary. The final cost of connecting a biomethane production facility to the gas transmission system is determined following completion of the public procurement procedure and conclusion of a contract with the successful contractor.
