Amber Grid informs its current and potential users on the opportunity to submit their non-binding demand indications for incremental capacity at interconnection points with Latvia and Poland. Such information should be submitted within 8 weeks starting from 3rd July 2023.
The non-binding market demand assessment is carried out under the Regulation (EU) 2017/459 of 16 March 2017 establishing a network code on capacity allocation mechanisms in gas transmission systems and repealing Regulation (EU) No 984/2013 (CAM NC).
The incremental process starts with the demand assessment phase that begins with the market demand assessment by the Transmission System Operators (TSOs) after annual gas capacity auctions start on booking platforms.
This year, the non-binding assessment of market demand for incremental capacity begins on 3 July 2023. Network users can submit non-binding demand indications within 8 weeks after the start of the incremental process, i.e. until 28 August 2023.
Based on the non-binding declarations received under this year’s market demand assessment procedure for incremental capacity, Amber Grid together with transmission system operators in neighboring countries will develop common market demand assessment reports, each covering all interconnection points within respective entry-exit systems. The reports will estimate the potential demand for incremental capacity on each entry-exit system and determine whether it requires the initiation of an incremental capacity project.
Pursuant to the provisions of CAM NC, market demand assessment reports will be published no later than 16 weeks after the start of the procedure, i.e. by 23 October 2023 at the latest, on the websites of all transmission system operators concerned.
The Application form for incremental capacity is available here.
